    Kanna + MAO-I ???

It is said that I should not mix kanna it with MAO inhibitors. Why not?
What would happen if I drunk some yerba mate (40-50% MAO-I) an hour ago and would like to smoke a joint mixed with kanna?

I've had a lot of Yerba Mate tea in my life without ever knowing it was supposed to be a MAOI and I never felt any bad effects. I guess it's not really a MAOI.

I felt the bad effect of a real MAOI recently when I was stupid enough to try just a little bit of Yohimbe after I had eaten Kratom. I thought it was only very little so it wouldn't hurt. Wrong, I started feeling really clenched-up and uncomfortable, my muscles were aching a little. I thought I'd get over it with a beer or two - very wrong! I suddenly started shaking like a fuckin crack addict. I was at a bar with some people who don't know about my little secrets and it was a really bad situation. Went to the toilet for a while and then it got better...

So, a real maoi (like Yohimbe) really isn't fun with stuff that shouldn't be taken with maoi's. Not at all! I really doubt Yerba Mate is a maoi because I never felt anything like that even when I was drinking it by the litres (and also had alcohol and other stuff afterwards)

I was going to say the same thing.

I drink a ton of yerba nowadays, I absolutely love the stuff. Caffeine is something to be avoided with maoi's, and yerba is loaded with caffeine. I've never heard of it containing maoi's.

By the way, kanna sucks. Does anyone want to come pick up the 4 grams I have left?

I can appreciate the subtle effects of Kanna, but only mixed with cannabis or alcohol.

I read that mate is a mao-i on azarius page. But after some research i found out that mate extract is a mao inhibitor but only 40 - 50%. So I guess that yerba mate tea is a really weak mao-i...
And it does not cause any efects when used with kanna.

For me, kanna is great. I use it with cannabis mostly. But I also find it useful to reduce stress before tests. I concentrate easier and feel less anxious. But it is not a real drug. I mean it won't blow you away. But I like it.

Kanna is an ssri, and ssri's don't work the same for everyone. They basically only work if you don't have enough serotonine on your own. I have been on prozac for a year and in the last few months I didn't feel anything but the side effects. Then I just quit. However in the first weeks/months when I took it it really helped, during the first two weeks it almost felt like mdma when I had alcohol with it.

When I'm using Kanna for a few days in a row then the effects are totally gone. The first day it feels relaxing and nice, but that's it. Smoked with weed it works somewhat better. However I won't buy kanna again, it's not worth the snorting pain.

It is believed to be a moai, yerbe mate, but very weak. If you guys say you've never experienced bad effects, i will believe this. Still have a whole bag lying around but were afraid to drink too much. I liked to read while drinking this tea, very sharp thoughts and no shaking hands

An ssri + mao is dangerous isn't it? About ssri's, the most strange drugs... Take too much and you will sweat, delirious, speed like. Take it at a constant long-term level and strange things will happen.. You start to get addicted. Your mind will turn to the more friendly, dreamy and spiritual side. This can be medicinal. And damn, these side effects, maybe the ssri-drug only produces side effects.
But in the end it benefits some people.
But an ssri as a short term drug seems weird to me. I've never experienced it a good drug because of the side effects.
    I'm wrong and it's beautiful
