Kava Nausea

Postby Teonanacapilli » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:28

I tried a couple cups of Kava today for the first time in about three months. Four rounded tablespoons in each bowl, and I think the second cup may have been a bit of overdose. After the first bowl I was chilling, felt like I'd smoked some nice hash. But I guess it could have been the topical anaesthetic thang taking effect in my belly, because I felt really nauseous and just generally sick and weak after cup two. It was like having the flu or cold, I had that weak feeling in my muscles like you get from a deliriant (minus the headfuck). Suppose that is the sedative effect?

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have more so I'll give it another shot a while down the road, but I didn't really enjoy being reminded of the delirious experience.

Yes, pretty common thing actually (aside from sludge and the disgusting taste that you can't mask). I'd stick with capsules and maybe a bit of ginger to counteract. Better yet, drink some hot tea with it, that seems to work with me.

Thanks Wolfy. I tried it with OJ the last couple days and that did the trick (acidity of the juice or some such?). I really enjoyed it this time it was almost... psychedelic.
